236 teams from all over the world will participate in the Mare Nostrum Cup football

Salou. Costa Dorada. 24 March 2018. More than 3,000 soccer players will participate in half a thousand matches that make up the Mare Nostrum Cup football competition. The Costa Dorada competition will celebrate its 18th this year. edition and will face teams from different places in Spain and Catalonia with teams made up of players from countries in Europe, Asia and America. In total, 236 teams will play in a score of football fields in different locations. Taking into account that the 3,000 participants will be joined by the same number of companions, the Costa Dorada will reach 6,000 people who become sports tourists who will stay in hotels in the area.

This tournament has already established itself as a benchmark in the whole country and focuses on grassroots football and has the participation of teams from the category Prebenjamín to the juvenile in men and an Open category in women.

The act of presentation has had the Manager of Mare Nostrum, Delfín Vives; the Director of the Tournament, José Masip and the Sports Director of Salou Football, Albert Viñas; the Councilor of Tourism of the City council of Salou, Benet Dams; and the Sports Coordinator of the Town Hall of Salou, Juan Hernández.

A tournament that never stops growing

Albert Viñas also wanted to highlight the growth of this tournament in recent years. Going from 120 teams, four years ago, to 240. For this reason, Viñas stressed that "we are very surprised, because we even have proposals to organize the Mare Nostrum Cup outside of Spain".
