"Carretera y Manta" tries to attract young people through eight activities

Salou. Costa Dorada. 03 February 2018. The program of cultural and leisure activities "Carretera y Manta" starts in February announcing eight activities aimed at young people. The municipalities of Salou, Cambrils and Vila-seca participate in this project. This year the majority of activities will be included in snow excursions and leisure courses. The agenda will be complemented, the cultural outlet to San Sebastian, in September. In October, it is planned to visit the Manga Exhibition in Barcelona. This last activity, together with the trips to the snow are the ones that attract the most young people.

The different activities were announced at the town hall by the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados; the mayor of Cambrils, Camino Mendoza; the Councilor for Citizen Relations of Vila-seca, Josep Toquero; as well as the Councilor for Youth of the City of Salou, David González.

Young people who wish to participate in the activities proposed by the program can consult the offer and sign up. The mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, wanted to highlight "the high quality of the offer within the leisure and training program", and added that "it is a small sample of the activities carried out in each municipality" .

The Road and Manta was born in 2000 with the signing of an agreement that collected a set of training and leisure activities in a program. Even so, "it really began to take shape before, fruit of the concern for skiing, which year after year has been transforming the program and bringing freshness and life", wanted to highlight the Councilor for Citizen Relations Vila-seca City Council, Josep Toquero.

Each activity has a limited number of places that are covered by strict order of registration and are aimed at young people in the municipality between 14 and 30 years (although if there are places available those over 30 can sign up). The mayor of Cambrils, Camino Mendoza, wanted to comment that "over the 18 years of the Carretera y Manta, more than 4,000 young people have passed." Mendoza added that "since last year, the new website allows young people to propose their own ideas, which adds value to the program."

The programming of the Highway and Manta 2018 is as follows: On February 16, 17 and 18 you can find the Ski in Port Ainé; on March 2, 3 and 4 of the Esquiada Andorra-Grandvalira; from March 10 to 29 you will find the intensive course of invigoration of leisure activities; from March 26 to 29 the Premonitor course; from September 15 to December 15, the course of revitalization of leisure activities; from September 29 to October 6 the ludoteca monitor course; On October 5, 6 and 7 you can enjoy the cultural outing in San Sebastian; and in October (dates to be confirmed by the organization) of the departure to the Salón del Manga de Barcelona. The Councilor for Youth of the City of Salou, David Gonzalez, also noted that "from the municipalities of the three municipalities is intended, not only offer leisure activities, but also a range of training courses and monographs qualified for young people, so that allow them to obtain a degree in a short period of time ".
