Local police vehicles in Salou will now have three new defibrillators that will allow them to act quickly in the event of medical emergencies related to cardiac arrest. The devices come to join the teams that already exist in the outdoor spaces and that represent a total investment of 11,000 euros.
The councilor for Citizen Security and Civil Protection, David González, said that with this investment of 3,300 euros "we want to expand the city as a cardioprotected space". In addition, González, stressed that "police officers are trained to carry out resuscitations and with the help of the DEA we try to give a faster response to save lives, it is a security element that we hope but not have what to use "
However, this is not the only novelty around the public network of DEA devices that will be applied in the municipality in the coming days. It must be remembered that this summer a pilot test was started to incorporate the first external point of municipal defibrillation next to the Luminous Fountain, in one of the places of maximum concurrence during the summer and that now will become fixed. In addition, the equipment that has been installed in the Cap Salou pavilion will also be moved abroad to be operative even if the facilities are not open and which will cover the Cape area; and a new team will be installed outside the Salou Ponent Pavilion to embrace the Atenea center area, school zone and the same sports facilities. Thus, with these three teams, the policy of setting them up in outdoor areas is followed, adequately protecting the terminals and they are automatically connected to the 112 emergency telephone and local police to act in the fastest way in case of cardiorespiratory arrest.
In total, the Department of Public Safety and Civil Protection will have invested in this deployment of equipment up to 11,000 euros and next year will continue to make an investment in new mobile equipment to provide 100% of police patrol vehicles, services of proximity police and also for the police of Playas.
Therefore, the new devices are added to those already available to the population in each of the municipal buildings: three devices for municipal sports facilities (municipal pavilion and municipal swimming pool, the Cap Salou pavilion and the field of municipal football), two devices for the police (mobile), an apparatus for the municipal market of Salou, and finally an apparatus for the Town Hall and hall of the TAS, in addition to another at the point of rescue and lifesaving of the Llevant beach, on the beaches of Salou.
