The City of Salou has promoted a double campaign that aims to raise awareness about the consumption of alcohol, other drugs and, especially, respect, focusing on the avoidance of sexual assault and sexual harassment. It is a collaboration between the councils of Welfare and Social Services and the Department of Youth of the municipality, which have sought the complicity of the group Som.Nit of the Creu Roja Joventut and also have the support of the Institut Català de las Dones and of the State Pact against gender violence.
In order to carry out this campaign -which will be carried out within the framework of the Fiesta Mayor festival- where many of the activities aimed at the youth group are carried out, various actions will be carried out. On the one hand, lilas bracelets will be distributed with the slogan 'I respect, and you?'; to raise awareness in the spaces of the greater celebration on the null permissiveness before the conducts and sexist attitudes. It will also affect, through a few informative brochures and other merchandising material and with a proactive action on the part of the volunteers, in messages of reflection so that the minors do not consume alcohol, and that the young people do not make a consumption of risk around the bars of the Festival, or as part of the celebration of games.
The Councilor for Youth, David Gonzalez, has pointed out that "from the council and in accordance with the Local Youth Plan bet on the organization of the festivities making responsible consumption of leisure both with respect to drugs and alcohol consumption." "We do not do it so there is no dangerous or worrisome data," he added, "but in a leisure environment, the City Council is committed to doing an information and awareness campaign."
