La Semana Santa llega a Salou ofreciendo a vecinos y visitantes el resultado de una obra espectacular: la transformación de la avenida Carles Buïgas, uno de los principales ejes comerciales del municipio, en un espacio peatonal de 1.300 metros de longitud, que significa además una apuesta por la sostenibilidad y que ofrece también un paseo artístico por la historia de la capital de la Costa Daurada.

The Llevant and Capellans beaches in Salou have renewed the Blue Flag this 2022 that certifies their environmental quality and services, awarded by an international jury of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). In addition to this distinction, the main beaches and coves of Salou bear nationally and internationally recognized quality labels.

The Camino de Ronda de Salou already adds 1,250 meters more and reaches La Pineda, in the neighboring municipality of Vila-seca, after the intervention carried out by the Port Authority of Tarragona, which has invested more than 86,000 euros in the adaptation of the space between Cap Salou and La Pineda beach. A section of path on the cliffs that offers 6 new viewpoints to enjoy new views of the Mediterranean Sea.

Between April 14 and 17, 2022, the Mare Nostrum Easter Cup soccer tournament expects to bring together 290 male and female soccer teams, aged 8 to 19, from various autonomous and international communities in Salou. In total, some 6,000 people, including athletes and their companions, will stay in the capital of the Costa Daurada.

The seventh edition of the Sports Night has acknowledged the work of about thirty organizations that are related in one way or another to exercise and sport. Among them, the group "Anem a Caminar", which celebrates a decade encouraging the Salians to perform a physical activity, is particularly noteworthy. In this seventh edition of this gala, it has also been congratulated for all the organizations that achieved a promotion or were proclaimed champions in any of the categories during the last season, and an individual trophy has been given to all members of these teams.

The Polytechnic University of Catalonia will carry out a study to know the impact of the natural elements on the beaches of the municipality, especially the causes of the regression of the coast. The investigation will lead to a comprehensive and detailed report of the affectation (by natural elements and infrastructures), stability and future of the beaches of the municipality.

The Coca-Cola firm has presented in Salou its "Mars Circulars" project, an ambitious initiative that aims to create a sustainability strategy by cleaning the coast and the seabed. The plan includes the recovery of natural spaces, the prevention with awareness campaigns and citizen awareness, and the generation of scientific studies and circular economics.

The company Repsol has presented a new campaign of ecological beaconing on the beaches of the Tarragona coast, which this year is completed with the installation of 17 new artificial biotopes. The new buoys have been located in Tarragona and Altafulla. Salou already has eight of them installed in previous editions. With these, there are already 120 biotopes submerged in these beaches.

The mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, has welcomed a hundred travel agents from different parts of Spain, who will enjoy this weekend of the Costa Dorada. The one that has been baptized like "Costa Dorada Life" is a program that tries to promote the tourist zone and that is impelled not only by the one of Salou, but also by the Tourist Patronages of the Delegation and the Business Federation of Hospitality and Tourism from the province of Tarragona.

The international jury of Blue Flag 2017 has granted to Catalonia a total of 119 flags that reward the quality of beaches, its environmental management, security and its facilities and services.

Levante beach and the Capellans beach of Salou have passed, once again, all the criteria that govern the quality of the beaches, ranking as two of the great beaches of the Costa Dorada. With 27 blue flags, the beaches of the Costa Dorada beaches remain notably around the country.

Since 2012 Repsol sponsors ecological placing buoys on the beaches of the Costa Dorada, so that with 20 the summer of 2016 are placed in Tarragona, Torredembarra, Altafulla and l'Hospitalet de l'Infant will be a total of 86 biotopes scattered around the Tarragona coast.

The Club Nautico Salou begin next August 14 the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the organization. The company, which currently has 675 members, faces three major projects until 2018.
