Torre Vella of Salou

C/ Arquebisbe Pere de Cardona
Salou
Torre Vella, Salou

Torre Vella de Salou was built by Archbishop Pere Cardona of Tarragona in 1530 with the aim of protecting and warning the city of pirate attacks and looting. The tower retains its original exterior appearance although it has undergone different modifications over time. On the façade is the heraldic shield of Pere de Cardona. The old building dates back to the 18th century and the "bridge" joining the two buildings dates back to the twentieth century.

Currently, Torre Vella de Salou is a center of art dedicated mainly to the exhibition of painting. It also houses the contemporary enamel museum, with a collection of enamels by authors from all over the world. With the corresponding permission of the City Council, civil weddings are held in it. Entrance for visitors is free.
