The 8th Day of Ethnology Terres de l'Ebre, in Pinellas Brai

Pinell de Brai. Terres de l'Ebre. The Department of Culture and Media, together with the Cultural Association of BROI Pi, the County Museum of Montsià and the Institut Ramon Muntaner, has organized this coming Saturday 17 October the 8th. Week of Ethnology in Terres de l'Ebre, under 'Hermits and pilgrimages: religion and popular culture'. Pinell de Brai hosting today's event, which will be opened at 10:00 by the regional director of Culture and Media, Javier Vega, the mayor of Pinell de Brai, Pere Martí, and the president of the Association of BROI Pi, Antonio Sierra and to close at 17.30. Its objectives are to share the different experiences, analyze the methods used, knowing the level of development of the current research and study the feasibility of new research projects related to the chosen theme. After the opening, the development of the day is with a conference under "The holy shrines and routes as knot of contradictions," by Josefina Roma, a professor at the University of Barcelona. And then, there will be the presentation of the different communications on schedule:  "Popular religion and festive in the Terra Alta", by Mn. Josep Alanya, canon of the Cathedral of Tortosa and director of the diocesan archive.  "The hermitages of Baix Ebre Yesterday and Today" by Joan Sebastian Munoz-Hilari, historian. "Marine processions in the Lands of the Ebro" by Xavier Figueras and Toni Letters, historians. "Terres de l'Ebre, are a cross between the popular religious celebrations of nature? Rituals penitential pilgrimages" by Alvar Monferrer, Doctor of Philosophy and Literature from the University of Barcelona.  "The hermitages as a meeting" by Salvador Palomar Montserrat Solà, Carrutxa members. As complementary activities within the program of the organization, conducted a tour of the wine cooperative of El Pinell de Brai and will also be presenting the DVD "Hermits and pilgrimages in the Lands of the Ebro: religion and popular culture".
