Montblanc. Costa Dorada. The exhibition 'The archaeological mission of 1907 in the Pyrenees' gathers all known information on this event, which is one of the milestones in raising awareness of the importance of historical, artistic and cultural life of Catalonia. We present two notebooks and drawings Puig i Cadafalch, notes that Mn. Gudiol took to write a memory of art objects, a selection of over 250 photos taken by Mas and extracts from other texts published by the protagonists. The 1907 archaeological expedition in the Pyrenees, curated by Josep Rigol, was able to visit the former church of San Francisco (San Francisco Square, s / n. Montblanc), from 26 January to 18 February 2010.   The archaeological mission of 1907 in the Pyrenees to the public today conveys the excitement of the discovery of the pioneers of safeguarding our heritage. In 1907, the Institute of Catalan Studies began a systematic study work of art, literature, language and law that restarted the spirit of the Renaissance, with the extended il'impulsava introduction of new scientific methods and technical means. In the first phase it was exploring the area, access to churches and monasteries emerged a documentary and artistic legacy which had remained in obscurity. Where the parents of the Renaissance Milan and Manuel Jacinto Verdaguer Fontanals and had set the foundations for a romantic myth, the men of the twentieth century established a systematic field of study as a first step of a comprehensive program consisting of studies, publications and museums. This exhibition is the result of co-operation between the Foundation "la Caixa" il'Institut Amatller. Part of a series of initiatives that aim to show the photographic collections that are part of the heritage of this institution and constitute a major item on the twentieth century Catalonia. The exhibition presents a seventy-unpublished photographs of the mission in 1907 selected among more than 200 negatives that have been preserved, provindents Almond funds from the Institute of Hispanic Art, in addition to texts and documents de l' time, belonging to different files, such as the National Archives and Library of Catalonia il'Arxiu Episcopal de Vic.
