Amposta. Costa Dorada. Obra Social "la Caixa" in Amposta exhibits a selection of 100 posters created in 2001 with the centennial of the death of the artist, who gathers the views of Marshal, Beeke, Scher and Tanaka, among others. Passionate about the world of poster, Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901) received orders from most Parisian cabaret. The first poster was made in 1891 for Moulin Rouge. Since then, and always under the influence of Japanese prints, was devoted to lithography and developed a very personal style in which he also stresses the importance of acquiring the font in their designs. The result are 100 posters which are clearly evidence of Toulouse-Lautrec. A complete series is part of the collection of Graphic Foundation "la Caixa", which now exhibited a selection of sixty posters building. The show designer for a myth. Homage to Toulouse-Lautrec is divided into two areas. At first, there are signs that refer to contemporary appealing personality of the artist and all the iconography that surrounds it. Black bowler hat, cane and numerous appearances under which Toulouse-Lautrec was photographed leaving have served as inspiration to designers in their honor this artist. Here are the posters that are based on entertainment and Parisian night, including Toulouse-Lautrec was a very goog chronicler. Similarly, the exhibition reflects the diverse trends of contemporary graphic design, as it brings together works by artists as diverse as Javier Mariscal, Isidro Ferrer, Anthon Beeke, Paula Scher, Seymour Chwast, Ikko Tanaka and Alan Fletcher, among others. Each brings his personal vision of the figure and the work of an artist's essential to understand the evolution of art not only in the nineteenth century, but in the twentieth. The exhibition, sponsored by the Welfare "La Caixa" co-operation with the City Council of Amposta, will be at Montsià Museum (Calle Gran Capitán, 34. Amposta) on 16 December 2009 24th January 2010.
