The City Council of Salou and the Generalitat de Catalunya are preparing the devices to facilitate and ensure the observation of the total solar eclipse of August 12, 2026 by all people who want to live this astronomical phenomenon, which has not occurred in Catalonia for 121 years. The eclipse also coincides with the summer festival of Salou, the Golden Nights.

The City Council of Salou and PortAventura World have made public the agreement to present jointly at the tourism fair in Madrid, FITUR, a large format event that highlights the Mediterranean identity of Salou and to present the novelties for the next season of PortAventura World. The event “Mediterranean Heritage, unforgettable experiences” will be on January 20, 2026.

Neither the weather forecasts of rain and bad weather for Sunday September 21 have been able to spoil the Festa al Cel 2025 in Salou, which has exceeded all expectations with more than 300,000 spectators coming from all over the world to continue, facing the sea, surprising aerial acrobatics. Salou has conquered the sky, and that is why it already thinks of the festival of 2026.

The City Council of Salou has reiterated its firm commitment to diversity and its rejection of hate messages during the commemorative act of the International Day for LGBTI+ Pride that took place on Friday, June 27, 2025. A commemorative plaque defines Salou as a city "open, plural, diverse and inclusive".
